Traditional Pub and Restaurant in Macclesfield
In 1840 approval was given by government surveyors to draw up a town plan on an ideal location. The existence of a natural spring, bountiful farming land, and proximity to the Angas River proved too enticing and the town of Macclesfield was born. The same year The Goats Head Inn was imagined and in early 1841 opened for trade. Built on the higher bank of the Angus river it was blessed with bountiful water supply and became the perfect rest stop for the weary traveller.
Live Music
The Three Brothers Arms is a live music venue and The Heritage Bar, with its original shingled roof and ancient stonework makes for great acoustics. Many a Friday night is filled with the sound of original musicians playing a mixture of styles and genres in a warm atmosphere and unique quirky surround that no other pub in South Australia can claim.

A Pub With a History
10 years later in 1851, The Goats Head Inn had its own brewery. The local brew won awards in both Europe and the United Kingdom, it kept the rangers and bushmen well watered for the next 60 years.
Now named The Three Brothers Arms, the establishment continues to serve refreshments to weary travellers as well as boasting an excellent A-La-Carte menu for those interested in fine dining. In honour of its past, the Three Brothers Arms also pours a local lager ‘Goats Head Lager’.
